1. What was the problem? And how did you solve it?
The SOC has been running on the wrong architecture for two decades. Legacy SIEMs were designed for log retention, not detection — and certainly not for AI. Analysts drown in noise: ~70% of alerts are never investigated, mean time to respond is measured in days, and security teams spend more time stitching tools together than stopping attackers.
Costs make the problem worse. SIEM pricing is tied to ingest, so the more telemetry you protect, the more you pay. Security leaders are forced into a daily trade-off between visibility and budget — a trade-off attackers exploit.
Vega rebuilt the SOC from the architecture up. We collapsed the SIEM, the security data lake, and the analyst workflow into a single AI-native platform. The AI is not a copilot bolted onto a legacy product; it is the runtime. Triage, correlation, enrichment, and investigation — the work humans were never meant to do at machine scale — are handled by the system. Analysts are returned to the work they were hired for: hunting, judgment, and response.
In production with design partners, customers see triage time reduced from hours to minutes, full-fidelity data coverage at a fraction of legacy SIEM cost, and dramatically improved analyst retention.

2. Why is Vega better or different from others?
Three things separate Vega from every other vendor on the Cybersec floor:
• Architecture, not a feature. “AI in security” is a label most vendors slapped on a SIEM built in 2005. Vega was designed AI-native from the first line of code. The data model, the detection engine, and the analyst experience were all built around the assumption that an AI agent — not a human — is the first responder.
• Economics that align with the customer. Legacy SIEMs penalise visibility: the more you log, the more you pay. Vega decouples cost from ingest, so security teams can finally collect the data they need without negotiating with their CFO every quarter.
• Outcome over output. We don’t measure ourselves in dashboards delivered or rules written. We measure time-to-resolution, analyst capacity reclaimed, and incidents closed without escalation — the metrics a CISO actually answers to.
The combination is what makes Vega the post-SIEM generation: the operating system the SOC should have had ten years ago.

3. Which of the 10 Cybersec Europe themes does your solution map to?
Primary theme: Security Operations / SOC
Vega is the AI-native operating system for security operations. We sit in the same category that today is fragmented across SIEM, SOAR, XDR, and detection engineering tools — and we replace that stack with a single platform. Our Tech Theater pitch on Day 1 (“AI-Native SecOps in the Post-SIEM Era,” delivered by Chris Morris) speaks directly to this theme.
Secondary themes Vega also touches: AI in Cybersecurity, Threat Detection & Response, and Cloud Security.

4. What is your business model? Who is your target customer?
Business model
B2B SaaS, sold as an annual subscription. Pricing is based on the scope of the environment protected — not on data ingest — which aligns our commercial model with the customer’s outcome rather than penalising them for visibility. We sell direct in core markets and through a growing channel partner network across EMEA.
Target customer
• Enterprise security teams with a dedicated SOC, typically 5,000+ employees.
• Buyers: CISO, Head of Security Operations, Head of Detection & Response.
• Priority verticals: Financial Services, Pharma, Telecom, Media, and other regulated industries with mature security functions.
• Geographies: established footprint in North America; active expansion across EMEA, with the Benelux region a strategic focus in 2026 (target accounts include DPG Media, Euroclear, UCB, and Umicore).

Why Vega should win
Vega is not an incremental improvement to the SIEM era — we are the architecture that replaces it. We’re backed by the investors who funded the last generation of category-defining security companies, we’re already in production with design partners across multiple sectors, and we’re bringing that point of view to Brussels next week. The Tech & Cyber Start-up of the Year award would put a spotlight on a shift the industry is ready for and that practitioners on the Cybersec floor will recognise the moment they see it.
