Fred Streefland
Fred Streefland is a proud father of two boys, an experienced thought leader in cybersecurity, a trusted C-level advisor, and a well-known keynote speaker based in the Netherlands. He graduated from the Royal Netherlands Military Academy in 1992 and served as an Intelligence Officer (Lieutenant Colonel) in the Royal Netherlands Air Force for 16 years. During this time, he served as a military intelligence specialist on Russian weapons systems and advised F-16 pilots, air base commanders, and the NATO Secretary General. He has completed several NATO missions abroad.
In 2008, he moved to the private sector and started working as a public safety and security consultant for IBM, followed by a position as a senior security manager at Accenture. After these years, Fred became Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for several Dutch companies, such as ENCS, Exact Software and Leaseweb. He then moved to Palo Alto Networks as Field CISO for Northern and Eastern Europe, followed by a position as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Secior BV, a Dutch startup specializing in operational technology (OT) security for data centers. He then worked as a security portfolio manager for Solvinity, a provider of secure managed cloud.
Fred currently serves as the Global Field CISO for Check Point Software Technologies, with responsibility for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). In this role, he serves as a trusted cybersecurity advisor to executives focused on defense and critical infrastructure. In addition to several industry certifications, Fred holds an Executive Master of Security & Defense (EMSD) from the Netherlands Staff College and a Bachelor of Science (B.C.) from the University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam.
